What cookies and browser storage are
Cookies are small pieces of data that a website or service stores in your browser. Similar technologies, including local storage and session storage, can remember a preference or temporary state without using a traditional cookie.
This policy explains both cookies and those similar browser-storage technologies. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.
What Odeysoft uses
The technologies currently used by the website are grouped below. Exact cookie names and lifetimes can vary by browser, configuration, and third-party provider.
| Category | Purpose | Examples | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Maintain a secure account or cart session and support core site functions. | PHP session and security state | Session or configured session period |
| Preferences | Remember your light/dark theme and avoid replaying the preloader during the same browser session. | odeysoft-theme; odeysoft-preloader-seen | Persistent until cleared; or browser session |
| Security and forms | Help protect contact, quotation, newsletter, account, and checkout actions from automated abuse. | Google reCAPTCHA cookies or device signals | Set by Google according to its policy |
| Sign-in | Complete Google sign-in when you choose that option. | Google Identity services | Set by Google according to its policy |
| Payment | Create and secure Stripe-hosted checkout when you proceed to payment. | Stripe checkout cookies and identifiers | Set by Stripe according to its policy |
Why we use them
- Keep you signed in and associate permitted account, cart, wishlist, checkout, and download actions with the correct session.
- Remember your chosen display theme and temporary loading state.
- Protect forms, accounts, and checkout from automated abuse and security threats.
- Enable optional Google sign-in and Stripe-hosted payment when you choose those features.
Third-party technologies
Google reCAPTCHA may load on pages containing protected forms. Google Identity loads when sign-in is offered, and Stripe processes payment on its hosted checkout page. These providers may set or read their own cookies and receive technical information such as IP address, browser details, or interaction signals under their own policies.
Following a link to Shopee, Lazada, a social network, or another external website takes you to that provider. Its cookie practices are not controlled by Odeysoft.
Session and persistent storage
Session cookies and session storage generally expire when the browser session ends, although browsers can restore sessions. Persistent cookies and local storage remain until their expiry, until the provider removes them, or until you clear them. Odeysoft’s theme preference remains until you change it or clear site data.
Your choices
You can block or delete cookies and site data through your browser settings. You can also avoid optional Google sign-in and use another available sign-in method. Blocking strictly necessary cookies or storage may prevent accounts, carts, checkout, forms, downloads, or preferences from working correctly.
Third-party privacy and cookie settings are managed by the relevant provider. Browser “Do Not Track” signals are not standardised; we do not currently use them to change necessary storage behaviour.
Updates and contact
We may update this policy when the website or providers change. The effective date shows the latest published version. Contact us if you have a question about a cookie, browser storage, or privacy choice.
